YCH represents our idea of how commission auctions should work. The interface is simple, clean and straightforward. So you should have no problems navigating the site if you're new to it. But even we sometimes do make mistakes or make something that is not very intuitive.

Creating an auction

To create an auction you should already have registered an account and verified it. Once that is done you can just click My account on the top of the page. This will show the auction list - if you've never created one it will obviously be empty.

There will be a button reading "Create new" on the top of the page. Once you've clicked that button you just have to fill in the details about your auction, and you're good to go! Please keep our title policy and our best practices in mind to make your auction successful.

Bidding on an auction

This process is very different depending on whether you already own a verified account or not. If you're verified, just enter the amount you wish to bid, click submit bid... And within seconds you should be done! Alternatively, if you're bidding as a guest or have an unverified account, you will be sent an email with a button you're required to click to submit your bid.

Once you've confirmed your email, your bid will properly show up on the page and you should be good to go.

Post-auction process

Once an auction ended, the system will transfer the auction to our commission management page. This page is not unlike an inbox, where all your commission requests are sorted and categorized. The system works not unlike a ticket system or a forum - so if you're familiar with these, you should feel right at home here.

Our system automatically groups messages in a thread and provides you with features to categorize your work. It also provides a reliable track record for admins and entities to investigate in case you have problems with an auction.

Reporting stolen art

You can report auctions from every auction page. An account on the site is required. At this time you're required to visit the page from a desktop computer for the "Report this auction" button to work. If you'd rather not have an account just go to our help page to find out how to contact us and report an auction.
